Volunteer Spotlight
"I am a costume and fashion designer. I have worked for various brands and now run my own brand which is sold in multiple stores across the country. The work I have done at Odd Arts has been my most rewarding yet. I have been working at the Drama Drop sessions to teach the students the importance of costuming, allowing them to be creative and bring their characters to life. I have taught various workshops where the students have been able to learn design and making skills, experimenting with different fabrics and learning about drape, texture and colour. As much as I taught the children techniques to stimulate creativity & design garments, they also taught me to think outside of the box and be more imaginative. This was the best part about working at Odd Arts, children see no limits and it was a good reminder to dream big and not restrict your creativity. The sense of community at Odd Arts is wonderful and I am happy to have been able to be a part of it."
Impact
On average each year we work with around 100 volunteers, delivering over 1250 hours of volunteering.

Petrina Leadership Programme Participant
“Being a volunteer in the summer programme meant meaningfully connecting with the amazing, creative young people of Hulme, and getting to work with the lovely staff at Odd Arts as well. I feel more engaged with my creative side and inspired to create and write my own dramatic work. I’m really grateful to everyone at Oddarts for giving me the space to lead my own drama sessions with the young people.”
Jen
“Being part of this wonderful team feels incredibly meaningful and rewarding. Everyday is different and I find myself enjoying participating in different opportunities and meeting the loveliest people. Volunteering at the Creative Coffee sessions inspires my own creativity and it is great to see in others too.
