We work in around 100 high schools/colleges and alternative & higher education settings every year. We are an Arts Award Centre of Excellence as well as delivering asdan accreditation. We deliver exciting & dynamic CPD & student learning experiences and support schools in their ArtsMark journey. We offer exciting and accredited work experience & training placements.
Our workshop style itself is accessible, engaging and interactive; using theatre as a tool to stimulate and challenge.
Our workshops include interactive debate and discussion and an interactive ‘forum theatre’ performance, inviting the audience to interact and positively impact the outcome for the characters in the performance
Forum theatre is a participatory approach that encourages democratic and co-operative forms of interaction. It enables participants in our project to investigate challenges and seek realistic and positive solutions. In our performance, participants explore triggers and warning signs and look for spaces for positive / preventative intervention. It was created by Augusto Boal, who the founders of Odd Arts trained with first hand.
It allows space for individual responses, where people ‘rehearse’ what to do in complex but common scenarios. The interaction promotes self-care & empowers people to make change.
We deliver Teacher & Educator CPD in: Radicalisation awareness (and holding challenging conversations); Mental health (and holding challenging conversations); Racism & discrimination (and holding challenging conversations) as well as wider bespoke training sessions. All these training options include a professional theatre performance and interactive workshop delivery.
We offer a number of accredited work experience opportunities, and host formal higher education placements.

Our Other Work
Odd Arts deliver a wide range of work to raise awareness of many issues which we feel are most relevant to the partners we are working with. We can tailor and adapt our workshops to fit the needs and requirements of participants and engage young people in education settings in longer term projects, supporting the, to complete Arts Award (Bronze, Silver and Gold) and ASDAN awards.
