This programme is an innovative, evidence based theatre programme that is designed to increase resilience & well-being in people in custody, secure settings and hospitals / mental health units. It is a ground-breaking programme culminating physical theatre, drama, dance & psychology.
BROAD has been co-designed by Company Chameleon and Odd Arts and is being evaluated by UCLAN Psychosocial Research Unit adding to the national evidence base of the impact of arts in criminal justice or secure settings. The pilot was funded by the Arts Council England.

Each programme can be tailored and adapted to the needs of the establishment and participants:
BROAD can be delivered in between 6 and 10 half day sessions
A large space will be needed for the full course
The space should not be in an area visible to other young people / prisoners / residents so that participants do not feel additional stress / embarrassment / self-consciousness
There will be facilitators from Odd Arts and Company Chameleon
We require partners to recruit participants in advance
All potential participants should be aware that the project does expect people to be willing to give things a go and it will involve performance - no experience is necessary
