Odd Arts is seeking an organised and passionate Volunteer & Work Experience Coordinator to lead exciting opportunities for volunteers and work experience participants, while making a real impact through the arts. You’ll manage recruitment, training, and placements, ensuring a positive experience for all, while helping us drive social change through creative projects. Additionally, you'll lead on our Cost of Living Crisis Grant project for 12 months, delivering meaningful support to vulnerable communities.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Organisational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and responsibilities across projects
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with volunteers, participants, and stakeholders
  • Interpersonal Skills: Empathetic and patient, able to build strong relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Administrative Skills: Excellent attention to detail, with experience in maintaining accurate records, reporting, and data management
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, particularly with the Project Monitoring & Delivery Coordinator

Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Experience leading or coordinating projects within the charity or arts sector
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and best practices in volunteer management
  • Previous experience in delivering community-focused projects or initiatives
Responsibilities
Volunteer & Work Experience Management:
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies for volunteers and participants
  • Conduct interviews and assessments to identify suitable candidates
  • Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing support to volunteers and participants
  • Match participants to appropriate roles based on skills and interests
  • Coordinate and schedule volunteer activities, ensuring smooth operational delivery
  • Supervise and manage volunteer teams, offering support as required
  • Maintain accurate records of hours worked and activities completed by volunteers and participants
  • Recognise and celebrate volunteers' contributions, fostering a positive environment
  • Stay current with trends in volunteer and work experience management
  • Collaborate with the Senior Project Managers to align placements with organisational goals
  • Ensure safeguarding policies are adhered to for all placements
  • Innovate accessible, ethical, and creative volunteer opportunities
  • Ensure accredited placements where applicable, in partnership with the Senior Project Manager – Education
  • Build long-term relationships through placements, linking to Odd Arts' community offer
Cost of Living Crisis Grant Project Lead:
  • Lead on the delivery of the Cost of Living Crisis Grant project
  • Develop and implement strategies to support vulnerable communities impacted by the cost of living crisis
  • Work closely with the Project Delivery & Monitoring Coordinator to deliver accurate reporting and evaluations, ensuring compliance with funding requirements
  • Maintain excellent administrative records, tracking project outcomes and milestones
  • Monitor and evaluate project impact, identifying areas for improvement and reporting to stakeholders
Administration & Reporting:
  • Ensure all reporting and evaluations are delivered accurately and on time
  • Maintain comprehensive administrative records for volunteer programmes and relevant grants
  • Ensure data accuracy and compliance with organisational and funder requirements
